Greetings,
Here are the main excerpts from the official ARRL entry form for Field Day. As it turns out, I over-estimated the total number of GOTA bonus points by 50, so our "final-final" FD score is 9,432 (8,492 contact points plus 940 bonus points). That's still 530 points ahead of last year. In terms of Field Day scores - that's a lot!
Thanks again for a great FD event. I'm already looking forward to next year.
73s, Jim -WX6V-

Comments:
KF6T was the coach for the two brothers (Paul Cecil, age 17 and Greg
Cecil, age 15) who made their first ever QSOs on our GOTA station during
Field Day. (Note to ARRL - KF6T was not a "full-time" GOTA coach for
bonus credit). Their help was also invaluable during Friday setup and
take down on Sunday. Shortly after FD was over, we heard that Paul Cecil,
who attends Placer High School in Auburn, Ca., will be earning his
amateur radio license as part of his senior class project this coming
school year. The rest of his project will be related to what he has learned
about ham radio. The members of MLDXCC who were at FD this year gave
these two boys a hearty round of applause during our annual round table
discussion about the highs and lows of the weekend before leaving our FD
site on Sunday afternoon. One other thing - it was wonderful to be at
an altitude of 6,500 feet in the Sierras over FD weekend where the
temperature was a balmy 85 degrees, while the Sacramento Valley was siz
zling with 105 degree heat. Going back home was hard. See y'all next
year!
