Exactly.

My CC&Rs specifically forbid any kind of "antenna, aerial or related structure" except for satellite dishes <1 m, which of course are FCC mandated. When I queried the HOA about ham antennas, the answer was a very clear HELL NO, we will never approve any such thing, and by the way the fine will be $450 per month if you're caught. SLAM. (They also specifically forbid clothes lines and solar panels but again, the state stepped in and overruled both of those for all HOAs.) So I put up my stealth verticals anyway and thankfully the twits who drive by and ding me about dead bushes or untrimmed grass have yet to notice them. In my 720-home HOA, there is one other ham that I know of, and he's a shack-on-the hip guy so I am very much alone in this.

So if not ARPA, what? Does anyone seriously think our 0.2% of the population is gonna come blasting in with a new bill that will mandate minimum antenna sizes?

Meanwhile, the city of Livermore, bless their hearts, allows 70 ft with just a simple permit for all the older neighborhoods... like the one I used to live in. Sigh. Thank heavens for Ken at Radio Oakley for giving me a joyous antenna playground.
