Hal...

If you have comprehensive coverage on your auto insurance policy ...this
type of damage is covered.
Trust me, I know these things.

Jeff's right...mothballs work (but then your car smells like your Grammie's
sweater).

The other trick I use is to put the vehicle up on jackstands...keeps the
meeces away
and prevents flat spots on yer tires.  I spray the jackstands with silicon
spray which
discourages critters from trying to climb up.

I also keep a couple of sticky traps underneath the car...one or two
corpses seems to discourage the others.
