[RSM] Fidgeting with digi

Hi Kelly

Well most motherboards I have worked on lately have a native com port. It just may not be populated on the rear panel. You may just need the rear card slot panel and a ribbon cable/dip header to get a single com port going. I am a big fan of having at least 1 or 2 hardware comports for "stuff" that comes up.

On the other hand I have used the SIGNALINK USB box as a USB/soundcard interface. I took one to 4W and it was super easy to set up and worked like a champ.

Hi all,

Hoping for some advice from the digital gurus:

I’ve moved my Win7 computer over to replace its quite-dead predecessor. I got — thanks Dan — the USB-to-CI-v cable working fine, as well as the Winkey. For now, SO2R is an experiment destined to remain in the past...

But looking at the back of the Rigblaster, it’s obvious its designers never envisioned the death of COM ports…

What would be the consensus advice? Add a card with serial ports to the computer? Find a Rigblaster-esque device that works on USB?

If the latter, what?

Thanks, all.
