In February 1999, I made my first foray into RTTY/contesting in the WPX
contest. I have entered every WPX RTTY contest since then, until this year. I
moved to Colorado last year, into a community with strict HOA, so I have been
off the air. It was bittersweet to see all the activity on packet and not be
able to participate for the first time in 9 years.

I was shocked when I just checked the SOAB LP claimed scores:

Call QSOs Pts Prfxs hr Score Club
  USA SOAB LP
  KS1Y(N1BAA) 1703 4776 672 27 3,209,472 YCCC
  AA5AU 1671 3893 546 30 2,125,578

Congrats to Don for a super effort (breaking the SOAB LP USA record) set in
2005, even without meeting all his goals. And congrats to Jose N1BAA for his
record-breaking effort! I'm sure there are a log of Europeans in his log.

I am the sponsor for the SOAB LP plaque, and I was joking with Mike K4GMH last
week about sending in my check for Don's plaque. Sorry, buddy!
