Art,

It would depend upon how well your station plays (loud).

If condx are good, and you have a good path to where your target DX is, 
then maybe just 'his call', 'state' and 'zone', without your call would 
be enough in the exchange.  If condx get noisy, QRM or QRN, then you may 
need his call and your call with a couple of 'state' and 'zone' exchanges.

You need to do as much as you need to, but only that much, in order to 
cleanly make the QSO, with few repeats.

100 watts and a dipole will most likely require a different exchange  
than 1500 watts and stacked yagis.
