[SCCC] Job Possibilities at Yaesu

At the Riverside Convention, SCCCer Chip Margelli, K7JA, advised me
that Yaesu had two job openings that might appeal to contesters or
DXers. In spite of the fact that all SCCC members are high-end guys
who command really high salaries, he still seemed interested.

I was only going to mention the jobs in the previous message, but
since Chip sent me the actual descriptions, here they are. If you or
anyone else are interested, contact information follows.

Having recently converted my hobby into a full-time job, I thought

You will be responsible for supervising the WDXC program of the YAESU

and the YAESU

        • Reporting to management, on a regular basis, regarding WDXC
status, challenges, and opportunities.

An Amateur Radio license is required (Extra Class preferred), and
broad HF transceiver knowledge and operating experience are highly
desirable. Strong English writing and communications skills are a
must, and computer experience (Word, Excel, etc.) is mandatory.

Amateur Radio Technical Support Specialist

The YAESU Amateur Products Division of Vertex Standard USA, Inc. has
an opening for an Amateur Radio Technical Support specialist.

This position involves extensive telephone support to customers, as
well as prompt e-mail responses.  A limited amount of travel may
eventually be involved, attending trade shows on behalf of the
company. Creation and updating of technical bulletins and other
written documentation will also be involved.

An Amateur Radio license is required, and broad HF transceiver
knowledge is highly desirable. Strong English writing and
communications skills are a must, and foreign language capability
(especially Spanish) is definitely a plus. Computer experience is
mandatory, and knowledge of Amateur Radio computer-based operations
(logging software, packet radio, WiRES and other VoIP systems)  is
also desirable.
