Interesting ideas...

Um, I have a large pile of bent aluminum
that broke off of antennas nested at 25 feet.
It's not all that easy to detach and lower
what's left of a big antenna (which will be
way out of balance with some but not all of the
elements broken off). And the repair, which
involves dealing with the bent aluminum, isn't
fun, either. Aluminum dealers loved me for a
few years.

George's idea is brand new to me. I never
thought of putting up eight more 25' towers
or poles to support the ends of the elements
on a four-element Yagi when the tower is nested.
But that just might work. Hmmmm...

"Hello, Texas Towers? Gerry, I need to place an
order for eight short towers..."

Hey, wait. I think I have a better idea. Dig a
25-foot-deep hole in the ground and mount the
tower in the hole. Then the antenna will simply
lay on the ground when the tower is fully retracted.
And installing antennas on the tower will be a
day at the beach.

Or try this one. Build a two-story house with a
flat roof around the tower. Then the antenna will
lay on the roof when the tower is lowered.

"Hello, U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, I want
to apply for a patent..."
