Here's a good mast calculator:

I think steel tubing comes in mostly 21' lengths. I think
about 30% should be below the thrust bearing. Make sure
there are provisions for swapping out defective rotators.
You can use a second rotator plate just above the rotator,
to secure the mast while the rotator is swapped out.
