I suspect that contest committees have log evaluation software that is
sophisticated enough to do the translation. Think about a station sending
the cut number power of ATT (100 watts) for example. Surely he isn't
entering ATT in his own logging software as the power sent in the exchange.
There was a big discussion on the YCCC reflector about how to log cut
numbers. I believe that K1EA was in on the development of the log
checking software and he said that the logged numbers are converted to a
common power in the software. So logging K or KW for 1000 watts
irrespective of what is sent will suffice. Likewise 1TT or ATT can be
logged as 100. The best comment in the discussion was "ATT is not
a number, it's a telcom company."
