Not to mention its utility for general purpose DXing. Better than a
packet spot in that it turns unknown quantities into knowns. If my
skimmer with its admittedly crummy antenna can hear a DX, the theory is
so will I. With W3OA's adjunct "SkimScan" program my skimmer can skim
the cream on several bands in a few minutes, spotting to my logger all
the juicy stuff my station can hear. Works tirelessly in the background.
Etc etc.
Awright back into my little cubbyhole.

Don't make old people mad. We don't like being old in the first place,
so it doesn't take much to set us off !

Besides its usefulness to lots of contesters in unlimited categories
during contests, it is a very useful propagation tool in the days before
a contest, and an excellent archive tool after the contest to audit what
MULTs and Qs were available and missed due to operating skills, flukey
propagation, antenna selection, etc.
