Hi all,
This morning Scott, the creator of the N3FJP logger, posted about a tool for hunting SOTA/POTA/DX called "POTA Cat" that integrates with N3FJP and allows for rig control. You can read the posting here: https://groups.io/g/N3FJPSoftwareUsers/topic/n3fjp_is_integrated_with_the/117858148 The post has graphics of the tool which probably won't translate over the email server. It appears to run on all three operating systems: Windows, Linux, and Mac.
Information on POTA Cat can be found here: https://potacat.com/
From the post:
POTA CAT is a free and open source program. It integrates with both Hamlib (which supports over 200 radios) and Flex Radio (offering spots overlayed on the panadapter).
A few other features you might find interesting...
+ A Map view to see where spots are all over the world (with day/night indicator)
+ A "Scan" feature for spots. Just hit Scan, then sit back and listen as POTA CAT scans through the spots until you find one with a signal to work. Hit the spacebar to stop the scan
+ A callsign watchlist for POTA/SOTA and for the RBN. If you're a CW op, you can add your friends into the Watchlist and get a desktop notification (and/or bell) once a friend is spotted by the RBN
+ A "hide worked stations" feature so you don't see the same power-ops in your feed
+ A light mode / dark mode switch, so you can set the look and feel to your liking+ ... and a bunch of other features that will simplify your tech and approach to making QSOs
*I have not yet installed or tested this program*
