[SECC] SECC Meeting Minutes - June 7, 2003

Minutes from the SECC meeting at the Atlanta Hamfest -- June 7, 2003.

Lacking any other officers, the club secretary AA4LR presided over the 
meeting.

* First order of business was the election of new officers to serve the 
term beginning August 1st. K4EA was nominated from the floor for 
president. A slate of nominations for the other offices was provided by 
K4NO as published on the reflector: K4BAI - vice president, NK4U - 
treasurer, AA4LR - secretary.

All officers were affirmed by acclaimation:
K4EA - president
K4BAI - vice president
NK4U - treasurer
AA4LR - secretary

* Georgia QSO Party (GQP) was also a topic of much discussion. Since 
KD3UC wasn't in attendance, there was some concern over getting the 
results published. KU8E volunteered to check with Jeff and help him with 
the results. KU8E also said he was willing to judge the contest the next 
year.

We voted to keep the GQP the same weekend next year (3rd weekend in 
April), even though it will likely conflict with Easter Sunday. 

We voted to add a stipulation to the GQP rules -- that any log of more 
than 100 QSOs would only be considered for an award if it were submitted 
in electronic form (eg Cabrillo).

* In new business, K4SB is the trustee of the South East Contest Club 
station license KG4ZFU. Ed will be looking to adopt a good vanity call 
for this license. Ed then wants to transfer the trusteeship to a younger 
active member. KU8E voluneered to take on the trusteeship after Ed 
obtains a nwe call.

* Membership Roster. Our roster has a number of inactive members, or 
members who have moved away from the area. AA4LR will be contacting 
everyone on the membership list in the next couple of months. This has a 
two-fold purpose: encourage activity from our members as well as remove 
inactive or disinterested members from our roster.
