Please Rest In Peace Sandy.
I’m very saddened to hear of Sandy’s passing. We had many cherished times in the late 70’s at W4AQL at the Georgia Tech Amateur Radio Club at the EE Building at GT. I would like all who knew him to speak up because he was as valiant a promoter of our hobby as anyone would have been. I just can’t remember all of the members call signs at that time. Sandy lived for our very own Ham Radio hobby. Sandy was a very strong supporter of the redo of the station at W4AQL in 1978. We purchased an Icom 701 and an Alpha 374 amplifier, which was state of the art equipment at the time. We were proud to go with Sandy to Pippins Pizza to digress after the W4AQL meetings each month. What does everyone remember about Sandy? I remember he constantly would approach new members and ask them what intrigued them about their new found hobby. The answers were always enlightening and brought new enthusiasm to our hobby for everyone! What else can I say? No more -- since tears will fill my eyes. God bless my friend.
