But isn't Comcast shared service and a T-1 is dedicated to the user? Not
sure?

That's interesting.
A T1 is 1.5 Mbps both up and down, but my 12 Mbps comcast is about 27
Mbps down and 4.0 Mpbs up.
A T1 was considered fast in the old days when it was compared to dial up.
These days a T1 is still rock solid and reliable, but not particularly fast.
I've had AT&T ADSL, Comcast cable, Starband satellite, and an
expensive full T1 at my house, and Comcast outperforms all the others
for upload and download speed, and single digit ping times.
UVerse isn't available here.
