Hello all:

We have three North American QSO Parties sponsored by the National
Contest Journal coming up in the next few weeks. These contests run for
ten hours on Saturday afternoons and evening into Sunday mornings early.
The exchange is just Name + State (or Province or NA Country or "DX").
Power is limited to 100 watts. Multipliers (States, provinces, and NA
countries) count PER band. You may work every station on any or all of
the six contest bands (except for RTTY, when 160M is not included).
Single ops may operate up to 10 hours. There is also a M/2 category
where the stations may be operated for 8 hours, but they cannot be on a
team. Only single ops are eligible for teams.

Teams consist of two to five members. Team members are not limited to
members of a sponsoring club, nor do they have to reside within any club
circles.

RTTY Ops: Please join WH6YH this Saturday on a RTTY team. Please
e-mail me right away if you can be on a team and I will register the
team(s) late Friday or Saturday and send out an announcement to that
effect. You do not need to show your team name in the Cabrillo header
of your log, as teams are taken from the pre-registrations.

As far as I can tell, no other clubs in our area will have a team for
the RTTY NAQP. So, let's all get together and RTTY ops join our
team(s). Registering teams encourages more activity, which is
beneficial to everyone in the contest. The final results published in
NCJ will show the team results as well as individual station results.

The NAQP CW is Sat Aug 6 and the NAQP SSB is Sat Aug 20. I know that at
least ACG and Deep Dixie clubs are trying to get up CW and SSB teams.
If you don't get on a team for your local club, you are invited to
participate on a SECC team, whether or not you are a SECC member and
whether or not you live in the south east area. I will also register
these teams before those contests start. I realize that Aug 20 is a
conflict with the Huntsville hamfest, but some who attend part of the
hamfest will still be able to operate during the NAQP.

This is an easy contest without a lot of pressure. Just get on, give
out your call, name, and state and work whomever you can. Being on a
team will give an additional enjoyable dimension to this contest.

Please e-mail me NOW for RTTY and at any time for CW and/or SSB. Please
let me know if you will be running QRP or LP and if you will be
full-time or part-time.

Thanks and 73,

John, K4BAI.
