This was the first try for this contest and there wasn't a lot of 
activity despite the ability to work everyone.  I understand they will 
another one on October 22 that may be a little longer and may allow high

This Week's Contests:

1.  CW Ops Club CWT Mini Tests.  Every Wednesday. Three separate 
one-hour mini-tests.  1300Z, 1900Z, 0300Z (Thursday UTC date).  160-10M 
CW.  Exchange:  Name + CWOps# or SPC.  Look around 028 to 042 kHz.

2.  QRP Fox Hunt.  0100-0230Z Friday (Thurs night local date).  20 
meters (14050-14070 kHz).  Two QRP Foxes (W1ZT GEO MA and K5IX DAVE TX) 
will be hiding and calling.  Exchange:  RST, SPC, Name, Power.  Maximum 
power 5W.  Work only the two foxes and do not spot the foxes' frequencies.

3.  NCCC RTTY Practice.  15, 20, 40, 80, 160M RTTY.  0145-0215Z Friday 
(Thursday night local date).  100W maximum power.  One/one kHz QSY rule. 
  Exchange:  both calls, #, name, SPC.  Look around 080 kHz and up from 
1805 on 160M.  Same band dupes OK after one intervening QSO.

4.  NCCC NS Sprint.  15, 20, 40, 80, 160M CW.  0230-0259Z Friday 
(Thursday night local date).  100W maximum power.  One/one kHz QSY rule. 
  Exchange:  both calls, #, name, SPC.  Look around 040 kHz and up from 
1815 on 160M.  No same band dupes permitted.

5.  RSGB Islands on the Air Contest.  1200Z Sat to 1200Z Sun.  80-10M 
CW, SSB.  Exchange:  RS(T) + serial # + IOTA# if you are on an IOTA island.

6.  Adventure Radio Society Flight of the Bumblebees.  1700-2100Z 
Sunday.  5W maximum power.  40-10M CW.  Exchange:  RST + SPC + BB# or power.

7.  Adventure Radio Society August Spartan Sprint.  0200-0400Z Tuesday 
(Monday night local date).  80-10M CW.  5W maximum power. Exchange: RST, 
SPC, Power.

8.  Phone Fray. Every Tuesday.  0230-0259Z Wed (Tuesday night local 
date).  15, 20, 40, 80, 160M SSB.  100W maximum power.  Exchange:  Name 
+ SPC.  This is a good place to practice for the NAQP SSB coming up on 
August 20.  The exchange and power limit are the same.

9.  CWOps Club CWT Mini Tests.  Every Wednesday. See # 1 above.

I will miss the IOTA contest this year, but it can be a lot of fun. 
Everyone can work everyone else, whether or not one of you is on an 
island.  Lot of activity in this one in Europe.  More activity workable 
here in the US on CW that on SSB.  20 and 40 meters will be the meat and 
potatoes bands in the USA and 40M only after late afternoon.  Look for 
KU8E/M in the IOTA Contest from St. Simons Island, GA.  I plan to be in 
the BB test on Sunday and the Spartan Sprint Monday night.
