This Week's Contests:
1. Straight Key Century Club Week Day Sprint (SKS). This Tuesday night
local date, 0000-0200Z Wednesday 12/25. 160-10M CW. Use a mechanical
key. Exchange: RST, SPC, Name, SKCC# or "NONE." Look around 050-065
kHz on most bands and lower on 160M. K8AQM is the bonus station.
2. Phone Fray. Every Tuesday night local date. 0230-0259Z Wed UTC
date. 15, 20, 40, 80, 160M SSB. 100W max power. Exchange: Name +
SPC. Mults count per band. Use your NAQP SSB contest module. Look
around 21325, 14250, 7175, 3800, and 1875 khz.
3. CWOps Club CWT Mini Tests. Every Wednesday local date. Three
separate one-hour mini-tests. 1300Z, 1900Z, 0300Z (Thursday UTC date).
160-10M CW. Exchange: Name + CWOps # or SPC. Look around 025 to 048
kHz and lower on 160M.
4. NCCC RTTY Sprint. Every Thursday night local date. 0145-0215Z
Friday. 15, 20, 40, 80, 160M RTTY. 100W max power. One/one kHz QSY
rule. Exchange: both calls, #, name, SPC. Same band dupes OK after
one intervening QSO.
5. NCCC NS Sprint. Every Thursday night local date. 0230-0259Z
Friday. 15, 20, 40, 80, 160M CW. 100W max power. One/one kHz QSY
rule. Exchange: both calls, #, name, SPC. No same band dupes permitted.
6. No QRP Fox Hunts this week due to Christmas Week.
7. RAC Winter Contest. 160-2M CW, Ph. 24 hours of Saturday UTC.
Exchange: RS(T) + serial # or VE province/territory. Work everyone,
but more points for Canadian QSOs and even more points for official
"RAC" stations.
8. Stew Perry Top Band Distance Challenge. 1500Z Sat to 1500Z Sun. 14
hours maximum operating time. 160M CW. Exchange: RST + 4 character
grid square.
9. RAEM Contest. 0000-1159Z Sunday. 80-10M CW. Exchange: serial # +
latitude and longitude in degrees. Abbreviations after degrees: S, N,
W, O (O = East). Work everyone. More points for QSOs with Polar
stations and with RAEM.
10. QRP Fox Hunt. Next Tuesday night local date, 0200-0330Z Wed. 40
meters. Two QRP foxes will be calling between 7030 and 7050 kHz.
Exchange: RST + SPC + Name + Power. 5W max power. Work only the two
foxes and do not spot their frequencies. Foxes will be KV2X, TOM, NY
and K4BAI, JOHN, GA. Most of us may have good skip to K2ZN. It will be
hard to work me except for locals, but give it a try.
The NAQP contests will be coming up early in the year and we will want
to enter teams. Please let me know if you would like to be on a team
for CW, SSB, or RTTY or any or all of them.
Also remember for next week the 24 hours of January 1 will feature the
ARRL Straight Key Night. Hook up your hand key and have some fun.
