DISCUSSION OF DAILY SOLAR SPACE AND GEOMAGNETIC WEATHER-
Solar activity is low as far as the emergence of the number of new sunspot
groups. Currently there are 5 numbered and 1 new un-numbered sunspot group.
Solar activity is very low (1 solar flare) as far as the number of new solar
flares and their magnitude. The largest solar flare in the past 24 hour
period was a small C1.2.
The daily solar flux index (SFI) has been above 100 for 2 consecutive days,
currently at 103.7.
The daily sunspot number (SSN) has languished below 100 for 17 consecutive
days, currently at 65.
The geomagnetic field has been quiet for 5 consecutive days with the Kp
(planetary) index in the 0-2 range. The following are the 24 hour 3 hour Kp
(planetary) intervals 10011112.
