For Tuesday February 05, 2013

Solar activity is low as far as the emergence of the number of new sunspot
groups. Currently there are 3 numbered and 2 new un-numbered sunspot groups.

Solar activity is low as far as the number of new solar flares, 1 solar
flare occurred. The largest solar flare in magnitude in the past 24 hour
period was a medium size C8.7, which emanated from sunspot group #11669. The
solar flare released a coronal mass ejection (CME) that appears to be Earth

The daily solar flux index (SFI) has been above 100 for 5 consecutive days,
currently at 105.6.

The daily sunspot number (SSN) has languished below 100 for 21 consecutive
days, currently at 41.

The geomagnetic field had been quiet for 3 consecutive days with the Kp
(planetary) index in the 0-2 range. Following are the 24 hour 3 hour Kp
(planetary) intervals 11100000.

The Dst ranged between +18 and -16. There has been some data irregularities
in the Kyoto Dst data so what I'm posting could be of questionable accuracy.
