DISCUSSION OF DAILY SOLAR SPACE AND GEOMAGNETIC WEATHER-

For February 04, 2013

Solar activity is low as far as the emergence of the number of new sunspot
groups. Currently there are 4 numbered and 1 new un-numbered sunspot group.

Solar activity is low (2 solar flares) as far as the number of new solar
flares and their magnitude. The largest solar flare in the past 24 hour
period was a small C6.

The daily solar flux index (SFI) has been above 100 for 5 consecutive days,
currently at 107.2.

The daily sunspot number (SSN) has languished below 100 for 20 consecutive
days, currently at 80.

The geomagnetic field had been quiet for 2 consecutive days with the Kp
(planetary) index in the 0-2 range. Following are the 24 hour 3 hour Kp
(planetary) intervals 10101220.

The Dst ranged between +17 and -7. There has been some data irregularities
in the Dst data so what I'm posting could be of questionable accuracy.
