DISCUSSION OF DAILY SOLAR SPACE AND GEOMAGNETIC WEATHER-
Solar activity is low as far as emergence of the number of new sunspot
groups. Currently there are 5 numbered and 5 un-numbered sunspot groups.
Solar activity is very low (0 solar flares) as far as the number of new
solar flares and their magnitude. The largest solar flare in the past 24
hour period was a very small B3. Basically the background x-ray flux has
flat lined in the B range.
The daily sunspot number (SSN) has languished below 100 or higher for 8
consecutive days, currently at 68.
The geomagnetic field has been quiet for 3 consecutive days with the Kp
(planetary) index in the 0-2 range. The following are the 8 3 hour Kp
(planetary) intervals 01100001.
