W4HM DISCUSSION OF DAILY SOLAR SPACE AND GEOMAGNETIC WEATHER-
For Saturday March 09, 2013

Solar activity was moderate as far as the emergence of the number of new 
sunspot groups. There were 5 new un-numbered sunspot groups and 7 existing 
numbered sunspot groups.

Solar activity was very low as far as the number of solar flares, 0 
occurred. That is a very rare occurrence considering that solar cycle 24 is 
at or near maximum.

Via NOAA SWPC the daily solar flux index (SFI) had been at or above 100 for 
11 consecutive days, currently at 118.7.

Via NOAA SWPC the daily sunspot number (SSN) had been at or below 100 for 4 
consecutive days, currently at 63.

The geomagnetic field had been quiet for 4 consecutive days with the Kp 
(planetary) index reaching a 2, which was quiet geomagnetic conditions. That 
is a very rare occurrence considering that solar cycle 24 is at or near 
maximum.

As collected by GFZ Helmholtz Potsdam Germany the 3 hour Kp (planetary) 
intervals were 22122121. As collected by NOAA SWPC Boulder, CO, USA the 3 
hour Kp (planetary) intervals were 21122121.

Via Kyoto U. the Dst ranged between +14 and -7.

Via SOHO and www.sollen.info the solar wind values ranged between 301-346.

Via NOAA SWPC the maximum background x-ray solar flux value was B3.2.

Via NOAA SWPC the energetic proton flux was < 10 MeV (10+0).

Via NOAA SWPC the energetic electron flux was < 2 MeV (2+1), 707 pfu.
