W4HM DISCUSSION OF DAILY SOLAR SPACE AND GEOMAGNETIC WEATHER-

For Saturday March 02, 2013

Solar activity is low as far as the emergence of the number of new sunspot 
groups. Currently there are 4 new un-numbered sunspot groups and 5 existing 
numbered sunspot groups.

Solar activity is low as far as the number of solar flares, 4 occurred. The 
largest solar flare in magnitude was a small in size C1.9, which occurred at 
approximately N08E88 and associated with an as of yet unnumbered by 
NOAA/SWPC (#S2265 by sollen.info ) sunspot group.

Via NOAA/SWPC the daily solar flux index (SFI) has been at or above 100 for 
4 consecutive days, currently at 112.2.

Via NOAA/SWPC the daily sunspot number (SSN) has languished below 100 for 10 
consecutive days, currently at 90.

The geomagnetic field has been active for 3 consecutive days with the Kp 
(planetary) index reaching a 4, which is active geomagnetic conditions. As 
collected by Potsdam Germany the 3 hour Kp (planetary) intervals were 
43312233. As collected by NOAA/SWPC the 3 hour Kp (planetary) intervals were 
43212233. The source of the active geomagnetic conditions was a 
geo-effective (Earth facing) coronal hole, #556.

Via Kyoto U. the Dst ranged between -15 and -39.

Via SOHO and sollen.info the maximum and minimum solar wind values were 
466-636.

Via NOAA/SWPC the maximum background x-ray solar flux value was B2.9.

Via NOAA/SWPC the energetic proton flux was < (10+0).

Via NOAA/SWPC the energetic electron flux was > (10+2).
