W4HM DISCUSSION OF DAILY SOLAR SPACE AND GEOMAGNETIC WEATHER-
For Tuesday March 12, 2013

Solar activity was low as far as the emergence of the number of new sunspot 
groups. There were 4 new un-numbered sunspot groups and 8 existing numbered 
sunspot groups.

Solar activity was moderate as far as the number of solar flares, 6 occurred 
of which 5 were in the C class magnitude. The largest solar flare in 
magnitude was a small in size C3.6, which occurred at approximately N11E43 
and associated with sunspot group #11692.

Via NOAA SWPC the daily solar flux index (SFI) had been at or above 100 for 
14 consecutive days, currently at 126.4.

Via NOAA SWPC the daily sunspot number (SSN) had been below 100 for 1 day, 
currently at 95.

The geomagnetic field had been quiet for 1 day with the Kp (planetary) index 
reaching a 2, which was quiet geomagnetic conditions. As collected by GFZ 
Helmholtz Potsdam, Germany the 3 hour Kp (planetary) intervals were 
11112121. As collected by NOAA SWPC Boulder, CO, USA the 3 hour Kp 
(planetary) intervals were 11212121.

Via Kyoto U. the Dst ranged between +17 and -2.

Via SOHO and www.sollen.info the solar wind values ranged between 290-328.

Via NOAA/SWPC the maximum southward movement of the vertical component (Bz) 
of Earth's magnetic field was -4 nT.

Via NOAA SWPC the maximum background x-ray solar flux value was B3.3.

Via NOAA SWPC the energetic proton flux was < 10 MeV (10+0).

Via NOAA SWPC the energetic electron flux was < 2 MeV (2+0), 113 pfu.
