Exactly, In fact there are a couple things wrong with what he said.To start 
with many SS rigs have a mic input impedances in the hundreds of ohms , or a 
few K at most,not 100K's Short of it is connecting it to a rig with a lower 
input Z tends to flatten out the response, so you probably end up with a 
pretty decent SSB mic as well as a terrific AM mic when operated into hgh Z. 
In fact some of the old crystal mics had a response control, which was 
nothing more than a switch for a shunt resistor.
