Topband: VP6BR 160 STATUS

Dear Gang,

           Talked with Jukka, VP6BR, and he relayed some sad news.
          He lost his amplifier several days ago and is working with only
100 watts as he does not have another one with him.

           Since he will be on the island for nearly four more months, he
is making every effort to obtain a replacement via New Zealand. However, he
doesn't expect to have a new one for at least six weeks. 

           I am very sorry to be the one to deliver this news, because he
was so very much looking forward to an exceptional effort on Top Band.
During the CQ WW Contest, in fact, he did work Ivo, 5B4ADA, as well as a
9A2 and was hearing many Europeans.

           Let's cross our fingers that he QRO soon as he is an exceptional
operator and very dedicated to the low frequencies.

           As soon as I have some more news, I'll pass it along.
