Topband: K6SE

We will miss Earl as a friend and a helper on many topband topics.  I always enjoyed visiting with him at the Visalia DX Convention.  
 
One of his contributions to the topband group was to organize the topband friday evening dinner.  On the 19th he had sent out the invitation for that.  He had about 45 that were going to attend.  
 
Soon after that he sent me emails saying that due to medical problems he could not attend, and asked me to take over.  There wasn't much more effort needed - just to verify that the reservation was ok.  I was glad to help.  That friday I called him to see how he was doing, and so that I could tell the group about that.
He didn't sound very good.  Sad to say he passed away the next morning.
 
We didn't know of that upcoming situation friday evening, and the gathering went well.  We thought of Earl and missed him.  We all signed cards to send to him and wish him well.  His good friend Al N6JZ was to take those cards to Earl today but it was not to be.
