Doesn't necessarily have to be a small operation, Dale.

I work at a facility with about 2,500 civil service and 6,000 contractors
(and that's just on-site and not counting the contractor facilities
off-site). Need a locksmith? You better hope he's not on vacation, sick
leave or attending his daughter's graduation, wedding, etc. If it's REALLY
a necessity and a work stoppage, they will hire an outside contractor to do
the job. Otherwise, it's wait until he returns. Oh, the facility? NASA
 Johnson Space Center. :-)

I guess that is why NASA is having so many very costly failures with tax
payer money and with bone head mistakes--too many on vacation. Further NASA
has been with holding information of what they find on the Moon and Mars that
their charter says they are to reveal. Even some politicians have been
noticing that. NASA wasn't a good example. Probably the worst that could
ever be used.

Having spent a very large amount of money for many things over 69 years, I
certainly recognize the practices described here that for some reason many
always want to justify when it's not their money and time that is being used
and wasted. Whether it's business transactions or technical data, they can
find more things wrong with it without asking for more details than anyone.
Valuable information was given on business transactions. Use it or don't use
it, don't criticize it. I've purchased my share of Lemons over the years
that I wish someone would have alerted me to but they were ridiculed to be
quite. There was a day when people wanted to know the truth and go to great
lengths to get it in business and technical areas. Now they can't recognize
it.

At some time men will stumble across the truth, pick themselves off and hurry
along as if they knew it all the time. (Churchill) Others react violently,
do an about face
(180 degrees) and oppose it at all costs. It's called "Informational
Dyslexia." I'd like to see more of an OPEN MIND POLICY for FREE information.
No one had to pay for it. Many refuse to give valuable information they
honestly believe it is correct and of some value when the "self appointed
final authorities" have to chop it up rather than just ask for conformation,
exchange data or actually prove it wrong. "Operation Ridicule" has no place
in an Information Society. Those who like to take credit card money long
before shipment haven't defended themselves so far--other have for some
reason? K7GCO
