Gary,

I use1 1/2 inch pipe mounted between 1/4 inch X 2 inch angle iron and bolted
to the tower legs. This is buried 3 feet in cement for my 40 foot model. I
use a 25 foot telephone pole from Southern States buried 5 feet in the
ground with a pully at the top. I connect a 3/8 inch steel cable to one
leg of the tower at the 20 foot level. I reinforce the connection point
with a 3 foot piece of 1 1/2 inch pipe and raise and lower the tower with a
two speed boat winch mounted on the telephone pole. Has worked for me at
two different QTHs for 17 years.

That being, said my arrangement evolved to where it is. During that
evolution and my trial and error approach there were several near disasters.
When the tower was at 45 degrees with a PRO67B at the top it bent 1 inch
threaded steel rods, sticking out of cement only three inches, in my
original design. My advise is do not do a Mickey Mouse job. Figure out
what you need and then make it twice as strong or twice as big.
