Doug,

Put a 1/8 watt 50 ohm resistor in place of the 756PRO, and then run the other
station full tilt boogie key down for a few minutes to see if the 1/8 watt
resistor gets warm. That will give you a baseline as to about how much power
you are dumping into the 756 PRO (1/8 watt ~ +20dBm). If you have a scope
with > 30 MHz BW, you can actually measure the voltage across the resistor
and get a better estimate of the coupled power. Compare this with the specs
on the radio. I don't have a real good feel for this, but I would start to get
concerned at around +10 dBm. If the band is hot enough, you might be able
to run some attenuation ahead of the 756 PRO receiver as an extra margin of
safety. I used a pair of back to back diodes on 160 successfully to keep the 
fuse in an MFJ Noise Cancellor from blowing when the sampling antenna 
was close to the transmit antenna.
