The effective height of an antenna is the difference
between it's elevation and the elevation at the
reflection point.  As long as the barn is not in 
the path to the reflection point at the angles of
interest (1 to 30 degrees below the horizon)
there should be no interference.  

I do not have a good feel for what coupling /
detuning there might be, but 20 ft is greater
than the element spacing so the parasitic 
elements will be the primary influence on
the driven element.
