Good point. If I'm climbing, I putting a real antenna up, I guess the TV
antenna is not worth the effort!

How about copper water pipe with soldered joints? (I know Alum is better,
but let's explore this option, Cu water pipe is readily available and easy
to work with.)
I would think that since Cu is more conductive than aluminum, maybe a Yagi
could even be slightly smaller. It seems to me you could build small
monobanders, without to much bending issues.
