Hi Terry,

Without actually seeing the installation it would be hard to know
what is up.  But if you are pretty sure that the system was
installed at construction time rather than added afterwards, you
can be pretty sure that it is OK.  If they did the layout right
and planned the placement of other conductive features of the
house properly, there would be nothing wrong with what you are
describing.  This stuff is a lot cheaper and easier to design in
from the beginning than to try to add after the construction
phase.

Do you have a set of the house plans showing the lightning safety
system components?  That would tell you a lot.
