There are two flavors available: the RTS (Rotating Tower System) ones
from Dick Weber, K5IU, and handled by Texas Towers and the ones from Rich
Hassell Bennett, K0XG, who sells direct. Both versions are well designed and
industrial strength. I think Rich's are less expensive. Both of these
gentlemen are engineers and their products show it.
A rotating tower can provide some real fireworks in ONE direction
(great for DX'ing). For an aggressive stack of antennas, the results can be
quite good. If you're a contester, I'd have a second smaller tower with
antennas that can be pointed in another direction for maximum contesting
flexibility.
