Hi Pete:
I think this statement needs some clarifying. There are the PLP
grips we use on the utility poles for guy wires. The guy wire 
we use is EHS.
There are also conductor preforms that are smaller but don't
match the guy wire at all because they are made for MCM and
the AWG rather than inches. They are normally made out of 3 
wires and don't give full coverage of the cable.
Totally incorrect for guy wire usage.

Do you recall if it was the conductor preforms that were 
being sold? 

By the way I am a power lineman and have over 20 years experience
in putting up guy wires.
