[TowerTalk] Yaesu Rotor Repair?

Well, I got my cracked rotor mast clamp replaced for my G-600x. Yaesu had
it in stock. It's interesting that they now say it's important to pin the
mast. They include a long bolt and drilling instructions for it. My old
clamp didn't even have a hole for pinning.
Anyhow, in one of my brighter moments, I attached the rotor wires up wrong
and applied about 900mW to the position sensing potentiometer in the rotor
and smoked it. How can I get this fixed? Is it easy for me to fix this or
is opening a rotor liken to tearing into an automobile transmission? Has
anybody on the list ever replaced one of these? Should I do it myself or
send it off to Norm's etc?
tnx,
Dave
