[TowerTalk] US Tower: Broken cable, resolution?

This is one of the reasons I will no longer do any business with US Tower.
When I moved from W6 back home to W3, I brought my MA550 (purchased in
CA) with me. When I needed a diagram and/or a little advice to get it
back up, they (of course) were no help whatsoever and refused to provide
any clues. The answer I got was "we don't provide any diagrams or
instructions."
That "liability" argument is getting old. Surely there is some smart
"attorney"
who can get around that one, if it really is a valid concern.
There are no professional tower installers in my area, and it is cost
prohibitive
for me to "import" one. I now have a useless pile of MA550 parts in my
garage.
Never again will I even think of US Tower when I'm in the market for an
antenna
support structure.

US Tower is difficult to contact when you need them the most and the
information is sketchy. They do not want hams to do this job for
liability reasons. If they are going to sell kits, they need to provide a
list of lengths and clear labels on what is used. At this point, I have
no idea what I have done to this system. I had no choice, it was
precariously perched. Had the secondary cable holding the tower up failed
too, it would have crashed an X9 into a bedroom. Not a good thing to
explain to the judge when you are splitting up assets 50/50. Good luck to
all who will face this task!
