      They're a neat source of income most of all. I understand that $1,000 a 
month is typical. 

      It's easier for them because if there's already a tower on your 
property, it won't be that much of a battle to get a building permit.

     One thing to write into the contract is some verbage regarding RFI/EMI. 
If they cause any problems on your gear, they have to fix it. There is lots 
of microprocessor-induced hash that might show up on your rx equipment so put 
the burden on them to cure it.

      As far as your antennas on their tower, they may or may not allow it. 
The only thing you might be able to install are vertical-type antennas; then 
you run the risk of getting into their gear which they are certainly going to 
discourage. If it were in my yard, I'd probably only consider using it for 
wire antennas and not mess with it. There's also the liability problem if you 
get hurt while climbing/working on it.
