	QSL on MISINFORMATION and procedures.
It has taken many iterations to improve the
models for Quad elements. The 2L Quad
has to be one of the best short boom antennas
ever made. Longer Quads seem hard to tune
	for optimum gain.

Models for Yagi's have evolved to a high level
of acceptance. If you look at the stacking gain
for 2L Yagi's (or dipoles) at 1/4 WL you will find
gains closer to 1 dB. One would ASSUME that
Quad elements which can be thought of as
stacked dipoles at 1/4 WL spacing with the ends
folded towards each other would not exceed the
gain available from straight elements stacked
	at the same distance. N4KG

Sorry about that. John confirmed that he removed
his KLM 3L40 and high band Yagi's, replacing them
with the Cubex Quad as you reported. He also
stated that the 40M 2L Quad seemed to be an
improvement over the short-boom loaded element
Yagi. I'm not surprised. For several years I used
a 2L Delta Loop on 40M, fixed towards 60 degrees.
It was a KILLER antenna. On 40M SSB, I was able
to CQ into Europe and most hunt and call contacts
took only one call, just N 4 K G, no repeats, no phonetics.
My CC 2L40 works well on CW but no where near as
well on SSB (since it is tuned for CW). The Delta Loop
was suspended from a 20 ft boom at 120 ft with pulleys
at each and a continuous rope loop to enable elements
to be attached at the tower and pulled into position.
Small (1/8 inch) nylon cords were used to pull out
the bottom corners. At 60 degrees, it coverel all of
Europe, Middle East, and Africa. Falling trees
following a small tornado took it down. de N4KG
