[TowerTalk] 300 ohm shielded cable

a wire like that in the foil is called a drain wire, and is the connection
for the shield.  A messenger wire is imbedded into the black plastic and
does not touch the shield. Can't say I've seen stranded with steel core
wires though. Usually catv cable has a single copper coated steel core, or
stranded copper. Any combination possible though, I gess.
