The San Diego HRO store uses an X-7 (yes, a seven) as their primary ant for
the high bands. I do not have any idea how long or difficult it was getting
it together but the end result is superb. It really works great. It is on a
US Tower 55 foot self supporting crankup. When using the auto-tuner in the
rigs it loads beutifully on 17 and 12 and there is some front to side on
those bands also. If I had not just built a 3 element quad for 20, 17, and
15 meters I MIGHT consider buying one (or the X-9) but the lack of customer
service at CC is why I no longer use CC antennas. Went through hell a few
years ago trying to get parts info for an A3WS.
I assume the X-9 would perform a bit better since it is on a longer boom,
more elements, etc.
