[TowerTalk] "Thief"

I too am always sad that deals between fellow hams go bad, but for the
aggrieved party to use the TowerTalk reflector to air his unhappiness seems
to be an attempt to leverage his side of the issue. After all, how do any of
us know who is right and who is wrong in a case like this? In these matters,
it's human nature to think that the one who complains first is in the right,
but that's not necessarily so. There are always two sides to every conflict.

I for one think it is a poor practice to allow anyone to use the TowerTalk
forum for such personal purposes. This is not the first time this kind of
thing has come up on the reflector. We shouldn't allow anyone to manipulate
us into the position of taking sides in a conflict for which we have no
personal knowledge. The potential for misuse is too great, and I don't think
that's what the reflector is for. Maybe it's time for the man in charge to
establish a policy about these sorts of potentially libelous postings.

Just my 2 cents.... 73, Jerry K3BZ

Towertalk then it seems to not be so out of line when a deal goes sour to
let all know. I would also like to know when someone is less than honest. It
reminds us all that even on this reflector that things can go bad. Van
