The episode with Carolina, now ABF, was interesteing.  It taught me to 
NEVER sign for anything until I've done a thorough inspection.  No 
matter how impatient the driver is.  When Carolina called to deliver the 
second tower after we had won our case I told their dispatcher to tell 
the driver to "bring lunch" as myself and my helpers would be going over 
the tower with a magnifying glass.  

Also as an addendum, one of Carolina Freight's VPs nearly got charged 
with barratry (unlicensed practice of law) in Texas as he was 
representing himself as an attorney in the pre-trial proceedings my 
volunteer counsel K5LP filed in court here. He wasn't a licensed 
attorney in any state period. K5LP was the area representative for the 
State Bar of Texas' Bar Grievance Committee, the committee which votes 
to discipline attorneys and also decides if the Bar will go after 
someone for practicing law without a license, in addition to a local 
district attorney.

Another thing we had to do in order to get any help from Tri-Ex, was to 
also name them as a defendant.  This forced them to also put pressure on 
Carolina to settle out of court, which they finally did.  By the way the 
"new" undamaged tower has been up in my backyard since 1993.
