I used two sets of four-pin trailer connectors. The wires and rotor  
cable pass through the bottom of a 4x4x2 inch NEMA box which is  
mounted via U-bolt to the tower leg. Inside the box, the wires are  
connected with wire nuts. The cables are strain-relieved with wire  
ties as they enter the box.

This has been up 5 1/2 years and there have been no problems so far.
