if you have the tool , use other connector , like N

I will not recomend use pl259 in RG 8 size cable like
the lm-400 or any other .405 diameter,  

 crimp excelent in rg-58 rx-8x or .3  but not the rg-8

better the classic PL-259 using a good technique
soldering the braid and center
