Mike,
I echo Keith’s assement. Mr. Anderson’s instructions are vague in some areas .
Having installed quite a few three tings are paramount.
The three piece tower brackets must be 100% LEVEL both around and across
The rollers must be equal distance from the tower leg.
Install the ring and antenna cradle and it must turn smoothly 360 deg . and more each way.
Then install the antenna and again rotate it ( the weight of the antenna my tend rock the ring 180 deg. From it’s location)
Install the motor with the antenna 180 out and center the gear In the ring teeth
YMMV

My experience is that the ring is likely installed incorrectly. I would try taking apart and re-assembling.

Subject: [TowerTalk] Tic Ringrotor Question
Good Afternoon,
Anyone know the secret to getting a Tic Ringrotor not to bind or skip? Working on Model CX-16/22 for weeks and can't get the darn thing to rotate more than 40 degree's before it binds or the ring will not mesh in the motor?Always' too tight or too much play and the the gear wont mesh with the ring.
Frustrating.
Thanks
