[TowerTalk] Wind noise

Why do you want to point the antenna into the wind?  I do just the
opposite for my OB16-3 ... less stress on the elements.

Depending upon the spacing, you could also be getting some resonance in
the air space between the antennas, but you're probably correct that it
is the one of the antennas.  It could also be the tower itself, of of
course.

In any case, once you find the source of the noise you should be able to
use some kind of mechanically lossy dampener to kill it.  If you find
the source, somebody here will almost certainly have a suggestion for
what you could use.

Sounds like an airplane is flying close by. Rotating the antenna so that it is perpendicular to the wind direction diminishes the volume somewhat.
