There was a particular GM station (visting, not resident I believe) this
year who got me going on that subject. I suspect they might have benefitted
from applying for a contest call instead of the 'GMnxxx/P' they were using,
although of course the '/P' does imply 'unusual island' in IOTA.

My technique is to always say the call but say it faster when I want to slow
the pileup down, and slower when I want to build it up. Seems to work, and
doesn't annoy the waiting stations as much as just saying 'QRZ' - anyone who
has tuned past us a few times already will easily recognise it. Maybe it did
get a bit frantic near the end, though :-)
