The short answer to this as far as I am concerned is 'all the way'.
How many M3s have you heard on CW????
If we, the experienced older hands, don't roll our sleeves up and
help the M3s into contesting and into CW, then we can't complain
when the bandplans get changed and Morse is marginalised. The
slow speed cumulatives are one avenue that must be left open to
draw Foundation licensees in.
The Foundation licence program runs via local clubs. Please go
to your club and offer your services to give them some morse
practice and then try to get some of the M3 and 2E0 operators
to have a go at the slow speed cumulatives.
After all, as the M3s are limited to 10W (big ironic smiley thing here)
it should be easy to demonstrate to at least some of them that
CW can get through much more effectively than phone.
